Welcome To LILA Upper School, Grades 6-12
From the time Lakes International Language Academy Upper School began in 2015, we have asked for student and parent input to guide the development and growth of our program. The result? A student-focused approach with a language-enriched curriculum using the acclaimed International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6-10 and the Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11-12.
We've brought together a talented staff of engaged, knowledgeable, and caring teachers who want to dig into their subjects with you, not just recite lectures. They're committed to IB. They understand how to support the positive IB attributes and attitudes in their classrooms.
To make LILA Upper School an exciting learning environment, we created a schedule unlike any other upper school, including multi-day blocks of intensive and interesting inquiry-based learning called I-Terms.
We offer outside lunch, so you can toss a football or chill at the bistro tables with your new friends when it’s nice outside. The Wi-Fi has been amped up for better coverage throughout the campus for our 21st-century technology approach. And we have LILA Dragons sports and clubs for after-school activities, too.
Our hope is that LILA Upper School is a place students are proud to attend, where they like learning, where they feel included and safe, where EVERYONE matters. Together, we’ll keep making Lakes International Language Academy the best of the best!
Now Accepting Enrollment Applications For Grades 6-12
1. Complete the online application. All students who have applied by the end of the school day prior to the enrollment lottery on January 15 are eligible for seating, according to charter-school law. You do NOT need to apply again if your student is a current LILA student. If your student is attending another school now, or attended LILA in the past but is not currently attending LILA, then you MUST submit an application regardless of sibling preference. Student names are randomly drawn at the lottery unless the student has sibling preference or is a child of a current LILA teacher. When all available seats are filled, students are placed on a waitling list.
2. After your student has been accepted, you will receive a code to go back to the application and complete any necessary documentation. This finalizes the enrollment step. Next, you will need to register for classes.
3. All students in grades 6-12 must register for classes. When registration for next year's classes opens, please select your grade and choose those classes that fit your interests and requirements.
