The Minnesota High School League and LILA coaches require sports participants to visit a doctor for a physical prior to the first day of practies. Bring this physical form to your doctor appointment. Some doctor's offices might just provide their own letter stating the student is eligible to participate in athletics.
Physicals are good for 3 years.
Again, physicals are required by the MN High School League to participate.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR DUE TO COVID:
- If your child has never had a sports physical before, they will need one done before the season. If your child’s physical is set to expire during this fall season (good for three years), an extension has been granted by the MSHSL due to COVID 19. See below for details:
Three Year Physical Clearance Extension: The MSHSL Board of Directors Executive Committee approved the extension of the expiration date of the Three-Year Physical Clearance. *A student with a three-year clearance that expires at any time from March 12, 2020 through the conclusion of the 2020-2021 school year will have the clearance extended through the completion of the 2020-2021 school year. *Each student must still complete the annual health history questionnaire. *Any student who had not previously participated and who does not have medical clearance to participate will be required to have a physical and be cleared to participate.
