It's Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you, LILA teachers, for all that you do! Pictured above, Profe Raul works with students in the library. See below for the daily themes of the week!

NEW NEWS:

  • Teacher Appreciation Week: The PTO invites you to pause a moment and thank teachers for their hard work this school year. Here are a few ideas to inspire your efforts - participate in one, all, or a few!
    • Monday: Flowers
    • Tuesday: Classroom Contribution
    • Wednesday: Rest and Relax
    • Thursday: Student Choice/Creativity
    • Friday: A hand-written note
  • Garden Club Plant Sale: The LILA Garden Club will have a plant sale May 10 and 11! Seedlings include tomatoes, peppers, kale, herbs, broccoli, and more, 4/$10. Come check it out! May 10, Lower School Gym Doors, 2:15-3:30; May 11, Headwaters Campus by the Cafeteria, 2:15-3:30. Proceeds go to Garden Club projects!
  • Family Fun Night Game Contest: The PTO needs your child's help! Family Fun Night is coming soon, and we would love to provide a new and exciting game or activity for students to play! Students are invited to share their game or ideas via the entry form. Winners will receive a free game wrist band for the evening of the event, as well as a free breakfast party for their class! Please drop off entry forms in the front office.
  • Amazon Smile: If you plan to use Amazon to purchase Mother's Day gifts (or other spring shopping), please consider switching to Amazon Smile. A percentage of your purchase goes to the charity of your choice, and we'd like to invite you to choose LILA for that designation. Every little bit counts!

PAST BUT PERTINENT:

  • Family Fun Night: Please plan to join us in a school-wide celebration marking the end of the school year! Family Fun Night will take place on June 2. Basket Coordinators are needed at every grade level for the Silent Auction! This is an easy but important volunteer job. Read more about it here. Thanks!
  • School Starts When? The upcoming 2017-2018 school year at LILA (as well as Forest Lake District 831) will begin on August 21, prompted by construction plans. Please refer to the full calendar when making plans.
  • Tote Bags: Thank you to the families who have purchased the LILA tote bag, available in FeePay for $5! You are fantastic! Tote bags support LILA in two ways: repping your school as you carry it AND raising money for school events like Chinese New Year.
  • Lower School Summer Camps: There are still a few spots open for LILA's immersion based summer camps! Check it out here! Incoming kindergartners can find out what immersion is like, and returning students can brush up on their language skills while having fun!
  • Worth a Thousand Words: There are lots of new posts & photos on theLILA Facebook Page! LILA alumni, Twins Game fun, and classroom activities to name a few. Enjoy!
