Profe Silvia's kindergarten class took part in the traditional eating of 12 grapes to bring in the New Year. What a healthy start to 2015!

 

NEW NEWS:

  • Announcing the newest member to the LILA School Board - Teacher Yao Hsia! Election results will be ratified and the new member seated at the January 20 board meeting. Thanks to all those who voted and ensured a valid election. 
  • Save the date for the 6th Annual LILA Snow Tubing Event at Trollhaugen! It will take place Thursday, February 19th from 5-9pm. Build community with other LILA families and take advantage of Minnesota winter fun!
  • The 6th Annual Gala Spring Fling Dinner is coming up! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25th. The event will feature a silent and live auction and will raise money for the LILA foundation. Tanners Brook Golf Club, Forest Lake. Invitation to follow. 
  • Check the After-School Activities page for new classes to try after school! Karate and Kickfit both have openings, but register right away!
  • The after-school tutoring page has been updated with more Chinese tutors available. Click the link to see their names, pictures, and descriptions, and to contact them with questions. They would love to share their language and culture, as well as boost academic support!

 

FROM THE PTO:

  • The next PTO meeting will take place tomorrow, January 13 at 6:30 in the Main Campus library. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!
  • BoxTop Contest Totals - Thank you for supporting LILA with your BoxTops! With our last contest, LILA was able to earn approximately $1,383.80! Our goal this year is $6,000, and we're 80% there with our year-to-date submissions! Together we can reach our goal! Keep clipping those BoxTops and send them to school. Thank you!
  • Drop-In Parent Volunteers - Would you like to meet fellow LILA parents and assist LILA staff? Please join us on Thursday mornings from 8am-10am to help our wonderful teachers with copying, laminating, and special projects! No need to sign-up, just show-up! Younger siblings are welcome to join. Please bring a quiet activity to keep them busy. Contact Jenny Johnson at This email address is being protected from spambots. PAST BUT PERTINENT:

  • LILA's community of staff is diverse, committed, and growing! Currently there is an open custodian position, as well as needs for Chinese immersion, Spanish immersion, and Special Education teachers next school year.
