Lakes International Newsletter

PHOTO OF THE WEEK:

LILA kids know how to stay warm in the winter! 4th grade students recently performed a Hawaiian themed music concert using drums bought through a grant by the St. Croix Valley Foundation. Since then, teachers and students alike have enjoyed hearing (and joining in on) jam sessions in the music rooms at both campuses!

FROM THE PTO:

Winter Plunge 2014

Look how much fun the people in this picture are having! This could be you on Saturday! With a balmy forecast of 19 degrees, our Winter Plunge participants can't wait to show their LILA spirit! We need YOU to cheer them on! Pledge to your child's classroom teacher, para, language ambassador, or anyone else on the list who needs a boost. We are currently $1,500 away from making our goal of $5,000. Money raised supports the language ambassador program and helps supply classroom materials.

• The grade level that donates the most to their Language Ambassadors will win an ice cream treat party for the whole grade.

• Every Language Ambassador that gets at least $75 in pledges will earn a t-shirt commemorating their Minnesota rite of passage.

• The parent and student team to raise the most money will win a new LILA t-shirt.

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday, February 21, at noon on the lake (by Vanelli's)!

PAST BUT PERTINENT:

Many LILA yearbooks are still available! Cost: $25 - Order Online at www.balfour.com.  If paying by check, please include an envelope marked with your student's name, grade, teacher, and "For Yearbook."
