Pictured above, LILA fan dancers at the Main (Minnesota Advocates for Immersion Network) Immersion Festival over spring break. They did a spectacular job representing LILA! All immersion schools in the area were invited to the carnival type event.

 

NEW NEWS:

  • LILA School Board Candidates: The Lakes International Community is currently seeking interested candidates for Board of Director positions: two at-large positions (can be filled by parent or teacher); one parent position; and one community member position. Please visit our news page for more details. Applications are due March 23 by 4:00pm. This is a great opportunity to continue the school's vision and high quality education for its current and future students! 

  • Finance Award: Congratulations to LILA for recieving the 2018 Volunteers of America MN Finance Award! LILA continues in its tradition of strong financial stewardship, having won this award in the past from the VOAMN charter school authorizing program. 

  • Vote For LILA: The 2018 Forest Lake Times Readers Choice poll is out, and LILA hopes for your votes! Show your Dragon Pride and write in LILA under Category 8: Best Summer Camp, and Category 10: Best Preschool, Public School, Teacher, Principal, and Tutoring!
  • Spring Testing: Many students at both campuses will be taking standardized testing in the next few weeks. Students are encouraged to practice healthy habits before test day and avoid planned absences for appointments on test days. Testing information is available under the Calendars tab on the LILA website.
  • Read Read Read: There are 10 weeks left of the school year - let's make it a strong finish! Lower School students, that means 100 more home steps of reading (or 1,500 minutes, but who's counting?) Instead of spring slide this year, let's fall in love with reading again!

PAST BUT PERTINENT:

  • Spring Gala: The LILA Foundation is hosting the 9th annual Spring Gala on April 28. Please consider donating items to be sold in the silent auction.Some examples of past donations are themed gift baskets, game tickets, hotel stays, gift cards, fun experiences, or useful services. All donations are appreciated. You can drop off items at the Lower School front desk with a label stating that it's to be used for the LILA Foundation Gala. If donating a gift basket, a list of items is needed along with the total value of the basket.     • The mission of the LILA Foundation is to establish and maintain an endowment to be used to enhance the quality of education for LILA students. Our primary objectives are to: 
  • Promote global understanding through support of ideas and opportunities for LILA students and staff, such as travel abroad or scholarships.

  • Enhance and enrich the student learning experience by developing talented staff through greater training opportunities, incentives, and compensation.

  • Provide funding to augment current LILA programs.
