Lower School celebrated Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day last week. Thanks to all for showing creativity and commitment to reading!



  • Conferences: Please click here for the sign-up links for conferences at Lower and Upper School this Thursday evening and Friday daytime. Teachers look forward to meeting with you! Sra. Ellyn would love some help with the Lower School book fair.
  • No School: There is no school this Friday for conferences, no school next week for spring break, and then no school the following Monday for a teacher work day. The LS front office will be closed March 12-16.
  • Yearbook Photos - Great photos make for a great yearbook! Submit your photos of LILA events and students by March 9 via the ImageShare app. Details can be found here.
  • MAIN Parents' Immersion Festival: Join other families of immersion students from around the metro at a free festival on March 10! See the flyer for details. LILA Kindergarten teacher Fang Laoshi and a group of students will perform a fan dance at the event!
  • Lower School BoxTops Competition: Turn in BoxTops by Thursday to participate in the classroom contest!


  • Spring Gala: The LILA Foundation is hosting the 9th annual Spring Gala on April 28. Please consider donating items to be sold in the silent auction.Some examples of past donations are themed gift baskets, game tickets, hotel stays, gift cards, fun experiences, or useful services. All donations are appreciated. You can drop off items at the Lower School front desk with a label stating that it's to be used for the LILA Foundation Gala. If donating a gift basket, a list of items is needed along with the total value of the basket.     • The mission of the LILA Foundation is to establish and maintain an endowment to be used to enhance the quality of education for LILA students. Our primary objectives are to: 
  • Promote global understanding through support of ideas and opportunities for LILA students and staff, such as travel abroad or scholarships.

  • Enhance and enrich the student learning experience by developing talented staff through greater training opportunities, incentives, and compensation.

  • Provide funding to augment current LILA programs.

  •  After School Activities: Spring session of KickFit is now available on the after-school activities page. Spring chess club is already in session, but there may still be room for more students.

  • 3/20-4/3 PTO Flower Fundraiser, look for info after spring break. Deliveries on May 6, just in time for Mother's Day.

  • 4/13 - Forest Lake Area Festival of Cultures, 5:30-8pm in the FL High School gym
  • 4/16 - 5th Grade Exhibition, US iterm begins
  • 4/28 - LILA Foundation Gala
  • 5/18 - Family Fun Night
  • 5/23 - Last Day of School
