Monday, November 14

Many of us are starting to think about what we are thankful for this November, and we are thankful for our Language Ambassadors! Pictured above: Santi, ambassador to first grade, teaching math centers. •  Cold Weather will be coming soon! Please take a moment to remember our recess guidelines:
    • Recess is outside unless the temp is 0 degrees or below, or a -5 degree windchill.
    • K-2 students should have everything: hat/hood, jacket, snowpants, mittens/gloves, boots.
    • Grades 3-5: dress for comfort, but at least a jacket and boots (when snow is present).
    • We recommend labeling clothes to help return lost items to their owners.
  • The LILA Foundation publishes an alumni newsletter bi-annually to help our community stay connected. Here is the second edition with an update from Seth Erickson! P.S. - the link to sign up to receive the next edition is on the last page!
  • Congrats to Forest Lake Rotary Club High School Students of the month: LILA's Sam Lundgren, Chloe Carter, and Annie Lee! They got to speak at a luncheon on why they chose LILA.

  • It's Turkey BINGO time! Who's in?! Join us Friday, November 18 at the Main Campus for a night of family fun! Doors open at 5pm, games start at 6pm. $5 per person for 13 games of Bingo. Pre-order your family meal deal to ensure you get dinner! 1 large 8 slice pizza, 4 beverages, and 4 treats for $20. Remaining individual food items will be for sale on a first come, first served basis; we highly recommend pre-ordering!

  • Should your child stay home? When illness strikes, please keep germs from spreading. Students should be fever free for 24 hrs and feeling healthy before returning to school. Contact the health desk for questions.
  • Save the date!  Whether preK or High School, Spanish or Mandarin, Upper School or Lower School, we cordially invite all LILA families to a Chinese New Year celebration on January 19 from 5-8pm. Mark your calendars now and plan to participate in this fun upcoming LILA community event!
  • If you stop by Main Campus in the next few days, be sure to check out the beautiful Ofrenda in the library, made by our own Sr. Juan, in celebration of Día de los muertos / Day of the Dead.
