About The Service Project (7-12th Grades Only)
A major focus of the International Baccalaureate Programme is Service as Action. We want to incorporate service and action into as many aspects of LILA as possible. During our 7-12 grade Orientation, students will have the opportunity to contribute their time to Habitat for Humanity by building storage boxes and Adirondack chairs, which will be donated directly to Habitat Homebuyer Families as "welcome home" gifts when they move in, or donated to the ReStore program with the proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity programs.
If students choose to contribute toward the service project supply kits, we encourage YOU (students!) to think about creative ways to raise the funds for the project now and bring $7 per student to Orientation. For example, doing an extra paid chore or two for your relatives or neighbors; asking for a dollar donation from 7 people you know; etc.
See You Soon!
Students, we look forward to seeing you on August 10th! If you cannot attend, because of a family vacation or another prior commitment, don't worry. We’ll have two open house opportunities in late August so that you can check out the building, try lockers, and get all your questions answered.
